The work explores the theme of memory embedded in natural material.
The mirror is finished with birch bark - a material in which time reveals itself through cracks, layers, and its natural texture. Each surface of the bark carries traces of natural processes. These marks become a visual metaphor for memory - fragile and vulnerable, yet enduring.
When the mirror moves, a musical mechanism begins to play. The sound transforms the interaction with the object into a small ritual, linking the present moment with the experience of the past.
The piece investigates the capacity of material to act as a carrier of memory, where texture, sound, and reflection come together to form a unified sensory space.
